Khotso which means Peace is the greeting in Lesotho. And its also the name of the backpackers we love up in the Drakensberg. It is complete Peace. So different from Matat where there is constant noise – the screaming as people arrive in casualty, the security gate as it goes up and down all day and night, and the taxis and cars and people on the road. Khotso is peace instead and its lovely. We get to stay in a Rondaval with plenty of outdoor play place and the children are just outdoors the whole time. I get to ride up the mountains (Literally) on basotho ponies who are amazingly surefooted and climb right up rocks. And we get to go up to a waterfall high in the mountains where you can swim in the nip and theres no one around and no noise except the water and the birds. Its wonderful.
